There’s one thing I cannot complain about. Sex has never been this great. Stretching on my bed, I feel the delicious ache settling in. That throb from when you’ve fucked too much, you know? And to think there was a thing as “fucking too much”.

I love his breath on my ear. His taste on my tongue. The way he eats me up, devours me until I’m a whimpering mess. I love how he takes me over and over, his attention always focused on my face, on my pleasure.

But I also adore how funny he is. How open. How he tells me about his failures and every strange thing that crosses his head. Is the Loch Ness Monster a thing? How long can we go on without having meat? Why hasn’t he ever met an ant shifter?

His mind is amazing. I’m always between awe and pure amusement when he opens his mouth to share whatever he’s thinking.

It’s great to be around him. Even better to be around him as friends with benefits. He can hold me up against a wall easily, with all those muscles. I love the strangled sounds he makes when I suck him into my mouth, and I feel the control, the power I have over him. Love tracing the marks my fingernails leave down his chest when we’re done.

We’re close, I can feel it. Close to having something greater and deeper than everything we’ve ever had. Falling into a rhythm with Slate feels easy. He keeps asking me to have dinner with his clan. He wants his adoptive father to get to know me better. He wants to introduce me to his friends.

But all these things are... Too serious for my taste. And I can never forget Slate does look like a player.

Tonight, his fingers brush around my belly button, and he sings under his breath. There’s a soft look on his face as we lay naked, waiting for the yakisoba we’ve ordered. We like the same kinds of foods, and the same flavors, so it’s easy to choose dinner with him.

Slate kisses my shoulder before he gets to his feet and walks into my bathroom. There’s a serenity there. As he strides naked across my place, with his perfect back, and his muscled ass. God, the man’s all chiseled. I’ll never tire of staring at him.

It pools in my stomach.
